March Events at Treeholm Studio: Get out of the cold and into our cozy studio!
Remember: Classes and crops will run even if only ONE person registers! No need to worry about whether an event will be cancelled due to low enrolment. Some classes have sold out, however, so you do need to register early.
Saturday, February 25: I am offering a full-day workshop: Scrapbooking 101 for the absolute beginner. Special price is $40 including HST. I still have room in this workshop. Email for more information.

Get out of the cold and into our cozy studio!
February 11-13: VALENTINE’S SPECIAL
Come just for the Saturday or come for the whole weekend.
Cost for Saturday is normally $40 plus HST per person. Cost for the weekend is normally $200 plus HST per person. The Valentine’s special is that we pay the HST.
February 24-26: This weekend is still open for you to book a retreat for your group of 2-6 women. Cost is $200 plus HST per person.
These prices include all refreshments and meals, as well as use of:
Electronic and manual die cut machines with lots of cartridges, embossing folders, and dies.
Stamps, inks, embossing powders and heat tool, glitter, sponge daubers, and more.
And remember, if there is something you would like to use, I will TEACH you how to use it! I am a teacher by profession, so my favourite thing to do is to teach you how to do something. That is included in the price of a day crop or weekend retreat. There are also separate technique classes available if you just want the class, and they do go into more detail than the impromptu lessons, but either way, you can learn how to use the tools and materials I have to enhance your scrapbooking or cardmaking abilities.

Happy New Year! I hope you have had a peaceful and enjoyable holiday, and are ready to take on 2012!
The last few months have been busy in the studio, and I couldn’t be happier to have shared my space with so many of you. I have discovered that there just aren’t any nicer people than those who scrapbook or make cards. Not really surprising, since these are the people who want to preserve a legacy of memories or honour their loved ones with a unique card.
I have several upcoming events at Treeholm Studio. There are four crop days planned, but January 21st and January 28th are already sold out! I still have room in January 7th and January 14th. In fact, there is also retreat space on both those weekends, so you can either come for the day, or you can come for the whole weekend.
Cost for the day is $40 plus HST per person. Cost for the weekend is $200 plus HST per person. Remember, while you are in the studio, you have use of all tools. We have added a number of new spellbinders dies and other items in the last month or so.
If you are a beginner, January 14th would be a good day to come. If you have been thinking about taking up scrapbooking, but have no idea what to do, I’ll walk you through the steps from storing your photos safely, choosing photos to use, demystifying the world of scrapbooking tools, choosing paper and embellishments, to effective (and easy) journaling to preserve your memories.
February is busy as well, but there are two weekends that are still open for you to book a retreat. February 10-12 and February 24-26. Even if the retreat is full, there would still be two spots for the Saturday only crop, so let me know if you are interested in coming just for the day. Again, the cost is $40 plus HST for the day, and $200 plus HST for the weekend. These prices include all refreshments and meals, as well as use of:
Big Shot with tons of embossing folders and spellbinders/sizzix dies
Cricut with lots of cartridges
100+ ink pads from manufacturers such as Close to my Heart, Stampin Up, Tim Holtz, and Tsukineko
Probably 1000+ stamps although it’s too much work to count them LOL! Manufacturers such as Close to my Heart, Hero Arts, Magnolia, La La Land, Stampin Up, Stampscapes, Your Next Stamp and assorted others.
Embossing powders and heat tool, glitter, sponge daubers, Tim Holtz ink applicators, and more.

Happy Monday everyone! I simply cannot believe that Christmas is creeping up on us so quickly… I probably say that every year, but I think the mild weather has lulled me into complacency this year. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it!
I’ve been working hard on developing some new classes for the new year. Look for classes using Glitter Ritz and doing paper quilling. So many ideas, so little time!
There is still time to make and send your Christmas cards! If you need the inspiration that comes from working with others, we have two events within the next week:
We had a sold-out crop on Saturday, and judging by the lovely thank you emails we’ve received, a wonderful day was had by all. I do feel badly that some people who wanted to attend couldn’t get a spot, so I’ve scheduled a “make-up day” for this Saturday, November 26th. I do have some spots available if anyone would like to get away and scrap with some lovely women… food, fun, fellowship and scrapbooking, what could be better? Cost is $40, includes all refreshments and lunch. Day runs from 9:30 to 4:30 pm. Just email me to reserve a spot: diane@treeholmstudio.com

Christine and I have been delighted by the positive response to our retreat centre, and bookings are coming in for 2012. We have 4 spots left in the New Year’s retreat to be held on January 6-8, 2012. Two lovely women have booked the smaller room, so we can accommodate a small group in the other room. If you, or you and a friend would like to come, just let me know.
I look forward to the semester end (I teach a third-year communications course at Trent University every semester) so I can focus on the studio! Still a few things to tweak here and there, including wanting to do an effective inventory of my hundreds (and hundreds…) of stamps so that if you are looking for a particular type of image, we can find it quickly. I also plan to give my label-maker a good workout over the holidays. Look for an even better organized studio in the New Year!
